Almonds are rich in vitamin E, calcium, fibre, antioxidants… all wonderful properties that make these the perfect snack. I eat plenty of raw almonds but sometimes I crave a bit of a twist on their original flavour, which is why I decided to try this version of a recipe I found online. Hope you like these almonds with a twist!
1 cup raw, whole almonds
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon sea salt (preferably in flakes or coarser grains)
1 pinch of ground black pepper
The peel of one orange, finely grated
Preheat the oven to 300. Place the almonds, olive oil, paprika and salt in a bowl and stir well to combine and cover the almonds. Spread the seasoned almonds on a baking sheet previously lined with parchment paper and place in the oven. Bake for about 12 minutes, stirring every 4 minutes or so, and making sure they don’t burn. Once ready transfer to a plate, sprinkle with the ground pepper and let cool. Once almonds are cooled, combine with the grated orange peel and enjoy!
